Summary

An excellent migrant trap and area of salt marsh

Location

  • TF964439
  • 52.956504, 0.922398

Ample parking is available at the end of Greenways, this is the western most track from the village running north to the coast. Although the wood is set back from the coast it is beyond the shadow of Blakeney point so receives its fair share of migrants. In autumn its always worth checking the tit and Goldcrest flocks for something rarer. The marshes hold very similar birds to warham greens in winter with Hen Harriers, Short-eared Owl, Merlin being the main targets plus Barn owl, Marsh Harrier & Peregrine.

Target Species

migrants in spring & Autumn, Hen Harrier, Merlin & Short-eared Owl in winter
