Summary

Excellent migrant trap

Location

  • TG085441
  • 52.953737, 1.102382

This small area just to the east of Salthouse beach car park is a very good migrant trap. If the 'right' weather conditions prevail in spring or autumn it is defintely worth checking.

In previous years the site has produced Great Spotted Cuckoo, Blyth's Reed, Pallas's, Marsh, Barred and Yellow Browed Warblers, Red Backed Shrike and Richard's Pipits.

You should also see Marsh Harriers and maybe a hunting Barn Owl, there are pools nearby worth checking for waders which can include Little Ringed Plover.
