Summary

Large grain drying barns inland from Titchwell

Location

  • TF757420
  • 52.946615, 0.613575

This is one of the best sites in the county for Corn Bunting. A good strategy here is to pull up opposite the barns and look from your car to avoid disturbing the birds. When grain has been spilt the Buntings often feed on the concrete pad in front of the barns. This is also a good spot for yellowhammer and occasionally Tree Sparrow. In spring it can be good to walk in either direction along the hedge lined paths, west is normally the most productive. Ring ouzel are regular and breeding warblers are in the hedgerows. Yellow Wagtail breed in the general area and any pea field can be good for a ‘trip’ of Dotterel in late April and early May. A pair of Little Owls hold territory in the area but can be hard to locate.

Target Species

Corn Bunting and an outside chance of Dotterel at the right time of year.
