Summary

A fantastic migrant trap

Location

  • TG527083

The cemetery acts as a migrant trap in spring and especially in Autumn. Park on Kitchener road which splits the cemetery into two sections, North and south. There is a lot of cover here so you have to be patient. In September & October in the ‘right’ weather conditions you can expect a fall of Pied Flycatchers and Common Redstarts, Woodcock are also regular at this time of year usually flushed from the rougher grass areas. On a good day you might see Firecrests and Yellow Browed Warbler and if you’re lucky something rarer like a Pallas’s Warbler. Norfolk's first Red Flanked Bluetail was found here.
